Keith Alan Winfrey, 66, of Mountain View, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 14, 2024, after a 10-year battle with cancer. He was born February 14, 1958, to Kenneth and Joy (Robertson) Winfrey in Hobart, Oklahoma. Keith grew up and attended school in Hobart, graduating from Hobart High School in 1976. He held the high jump record for 45 years at Hobart High School. Keith attended USAO College, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree. He worked as a Med Tech at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital and later at the Hobart hospital. He later returned to the oil field and worked for Devon as a safety man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with all his buddies, children, and grandchildren. Keith was a great fish fryer. He enjoyed when all his family and friends got together to eat. Each summer he was proud of the vegetables his garden produced and enjoyed canning them.
He married Carroll Harmon on August 9, 2004, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Keith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Carroll Winfrey of the home; daughter: Lindsay Pickle and husband, Preston, Leavenworth, KS; stepsons: Derrick Skinner, Carnegie, OK, Dillon Skinner and wife, Madison, Fort Cobb, OK, Dace Skinner, Mountain View, OK , Denton Skinner, Mountain View, OK; stepdaughter, Aimee Cape, Carnegie, OK; grandchildren: Chloe and Calleigh Pickle, Bentley and Paisley Skinner, Drake, Destine, Andrea, and Tyler Skinner, Shelby Courtney and husband, Cody; great-grandchildren: Haelynn Courtney, Esua Ruiz. He is also survived by his sister: Marilyn Thrift and husband, Joe, Fernandina Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Chastity Sink, Carnegie, OK; brother-in-law: Billy Harmon and wife, Mechele, Carnegie, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Winfrey and his mother, Joy McGough and husband, Bill; son, Dustin Winfrey; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Barbara Harmon; and sister-in-law, Betty Clary.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Lost Cowboy Church in Gracemont, Oklahoma.
